Continuously monitor maritime activities in the ESA-IO region and collect and consolidate all possible data of maritime interest.

Periodically ensure the dissemination of credible, up-to-date maritime information and a recognized maritime image of the ESA-IO region.

Alert in the event of detection of suspicious vessel behavior, adverse weather conditions or traffic which could affect safety and security.

Feed databases and archives to facilitate possible future investigations.

Analyze and provide expert opinions on risks and suspicions of illicit activities to clarify decision-making bodies.

Analyze and provide advice on identified threats and vulnerabilities on a periodic basis.

Provide recommendations and advice to improve maritime situational awareness in the AfOA-IO region.

Support Member States and partners in times of crisis by providing a coherent picture of maritime activity.

Enable effective coordination of actions between Member States and partners in collaboration with RCOC.
