Regional Level Operations
A Unified Shield for the Indian Ocean
At the regional level, RCOC acts as the central intelligence hub for the Eastern and Southern Africa and Indian Ocean (ESA-IO) region. Our mandate is to fuse information from diverse sources to create a comprehensive Recognized Maritime Picture (RMP).
This regional perspective allows us to track transnational threats that no single nation could monitor alone, such as IUU fishing fleets moving between Exclusive Economic Zones (EEZs) or drug trafficking routes spanning thousands of nautical miles.
Cross-Border Tracking
Seamless monitoring of vessels as they transit between member state jurisdictions.
Rapid Alert System
Automated alerts sent to the RCOC for immediate operational response.
Joint Exercises
Coordinating regional Table Top Exercises (TTX) to maintain readiness.
